About Me

Bio

Michaela Misha Zabranska is an award winning director, writer, designer, and animator. In her career she has used digital technologies in a number of innovative ways in North America, Japan, and Europe. She developed her storytelling skills creating a number of original short films RUNS, PASSERS BY, or THE FIRST POLITICAL SPEECH, and animating and directing on the ground-breaking CG TV shows REBOOT and TRANSFORMERS. For many years Misha was a Lead Animator at George Lucas’s company Industrial Light and Magic. She contributed to films STAR WARS: EPISODE I, FRANKENSTEIN, GREEN MILE, DEEP BLUE SEA, SMALL SOLDIERS AND  JACK FROST. While she enjoyed being a team player in the CG visual effects and animation field, her creativity led her to hybrid media forms of expression, developing a number of performances: RECREATE, J.S. BACH: ART OF FUGUE, SPIRITS, FINN, ATTAR, and the virtual reality play ALL IS RELATIVE. Misha is a Clinical Professor at the Center for Advanced Digital Applications, at NYU and a Visiting Professor at Pratt Institute.
